We're Nathan & Zoey and we're so happy you're here. This blog is a journal about our photography, family life, and travels. Stay a while and say hello!

hey there

Dallas, TX is one of the top places to get married in the U.S. In fact, it’s #3 according to this list from 2022. With the number of weddings Zoey and I photograph each year, we’d believe it even if we didn’t have the data to support this!

Maybe it’s the atmosphere, but we think it may also be because we have some of the best wedding venues in Dallas. Here are a few of our favorite venues in the DFW area.

The Springs in Waxahachie (Formerly Hidden Waters)

The Springs in Waxahachie recently went through some rebranding from its former name, Hidden Waters, to its current name. New owners, but still a beautiful venue. This is a Tuscan-inspired villa that offers beautiful outdoor views and a large reception hall. Zoey and I are a little partial to this venue since this is the venue we got married at. For that reason alone, it goes to the top of the list for our favorite wedding venues in Dallas!

The White Sparrow Barn

The White Sparrow Barn is breathtaking in its natural environment, surrounded by beautiful oak trees and lush gardens. This is one of the best vintage wedding venues in Dallas is a charming gem tucked away in the Union Valley. We are a huge fan of the beautiful country landscape that surrounds this venue, which is perfect for any couple getting married in the DFW area.

The Mason

The Mason is one of those really cool wedding venues in Dallas with a unique history behind it. It was originally designed by a prominent architect, Herbert M. Greene, and was formatted to be an event space nearly 100 years after its build. This is one of those “gatsby” style venues with the beautiful Empire Chandeliers in the Ballroom and filled with bespoke furnishings. In terms of elegance, this is one of our favorite venues.

Firefly Gardens

Firefly Gardens is another one of the wedding venues in Dallas we love due to its all white structure and amazing views while being so close to the Metroplex. One of the more unique aspects of Firefly Gardens is the variety it offers. For instance, The Hall offers a space with large windows and natural light. The Rustic White Barn is, well, rustic. And the Historic House offers the most elegant style of the three options. We absolutely love Jamie here (she’s who runs this ship). We’ll always remember the first time we visited this venue and her mother, Jan, personally gave us the tour.

Brighton Abbey

Here’s another elegant estate venue we love! What we love about this European-influenced wedding is its glass chapel and the surrounding woods. This is one of those wedding venues in Dallas that shouldn’t exist, but it does! Zoey and I love the stairs for bridals.

Knottinghill Place

knottinghill-place-wedding-venues-in-dallas-nathan-and-zoey-wedding-photographers

If Brighton Abbey isn’t enough for you, then its sister venue, Knottinghill Place may be what you are looking for. Inspired by the French Renaissance, this grand castle (yes, a castle) is set in the town of Little Elm, TX. This is one of those wedding venues that will forever etch itself into your mind. It certainly left an impression on Zoey and me.

The Hall of Lights

One of the newer venues to open up, the Hall of Lights is appropriately named with its high ceilings, amazing light fixtures, and wide windows. This wedding venue parts from the ones we’ve seen previously with its contemporary style and cool tones. If you stop by this venue, make sure you tell Kinar or Chelsea (the venue coordinators) Zoey and I say, “Hi!”

The Arboretum

the-Aboretum-wedding-venues-in-dallas-nathan-and-zoey-wedding-photographers

Looking for a Botanical Garden to get married at? We’ve got you. Well, the Arboretum does. Of all the outdoor wedding venues in Dallas, this may be mine and Zoey’s favorite. Naturally, there are flowers and gardens glowing from the moment you step in. It’s a beautiful thing, because when you add a florist in the mix, it’s not just designing flowers to your wedding – but also designing them around what is already there. There are 18 ceremony options and 4 reception options, making this one of the most diverse wedding venues in Dallas on the list.

The Nest at Ruth Farms

The Nest at Ruth Farms is one of the beautiful, white barn and chapel wedding venues in Dallas. It’s exactly the wedding venue one would expect to find in the DFW area. However, the most unique aspect of this venue is the heart of the owners. They partner with Compassion International and sponsor children who need education, clothing, shelter, and food. Meaning every couple that books with The Nest at Ruth Farms is also having a part in helping a child. This family who manages this venue is a joy to work with, and we love working with the venue director, Calla.

The French Farmhouse

The French Farmhouse opened September of 2020, so it was quite the time for it to open! Each room is bright with white walls and paired with beautiful wood floors that bring the farmhouse to life. This ties elegance and farmhouse together beautifully. It is easily one of our favorite elegant wedding venues in Dallas.

The Trinity River Audubon Center

10 miles south of Downtown Dallas, the Trinity River Audubon Center is surrounded by trees and in the center of the forest. It’s nearby several hiking trails, which offers plenty of opportunity to have unique photos for your wedding in unlikely places as the next wedding. Boxwood Hospitality is the group that manages the weddings at Trinity. We cannot speak highly enough of how well they treat not only the guests, but also the vendors here.

The Adolphus

The Adolphus is a DFW wedding venue that is at a hotel designed after a grand English manor and Beaux Arts German castle. Couples who get married here often want to highlight the elegance of their wedding and invite several hundred guests. Once you step into the interior though, you find it’s more than modern enough to match other modern wedding venues in Dallas.

The Rosewood Mansion

Not all wedding venues in Dallas are the white farm or mansion. Insert the Rosewood Mansion! What Zoey and I love about this mansion is its break from the norm here. Not only do the rooms highlight beautiful artistry and texture, but they provide plenty of light for beautiful photos of your wedding day! As if that isn’t enough, we love the Mansion Lawn and Garden for outdoor receptions as well.

The Artisan

Featuring a rooftop terrace wedding experience, the Artisan boasts a “modern luxury” vibe. We love this venue because of the extremely friendly staff and the fantastic views. The Artisan opened September 2018 and is in the middle of the Dallas Arts District at the KPMG Plaza.

The Carlisle Room

The Carlisle Room was built in 1932. An interesting piece of information about it is that it was The Lone Star Gas building, but has since been transformed into a beautiful, traditional Art Deco style wedding venue! It is a massive venue with a 5,500 square feet room and the latest additions allow for an additional 3,000 square feet. The best way to describe this venue is to imagine stepping into the Great Gatsby!
