When it comes to celebrating love, there’s nothing more beautiful than the union of two individuals from different cultures. And that’s exactly what Teresa and Alex’s wedding at The Nest at Ruth Farms was all about. From the stunning venue to the heartfelt moments, this multicultural celebration was truly one for the books.
The Nest at Ruth Farms
Nestled in the heart of nature, the Nest at Ruth Farms is a wedding venue in Ponder, TX (near Dallas) that provides a picturesque backdrop for beautiful weddings. It features an upscale, rustic charm and scenic beauty on 36 acres. LaWanna and Chris (the owners) opened The Nest as a wedding venue thanks to the suggestion of their youngest daughter.
As beautiful as this wedding venue is with it’s white walls and open atmosphere, we’re even more in love with the heart of the owners and their partnership with Compassion International.
Teresa + Alex’s Multicultural Wedding
Teresa and Alex’s introduction to each other began during their time at Oklahoma University – and it’s undeniable how sweet they are for each other. They have a genuine love for one another, and we’re fortunate to have met them as we were not the intended photographer for their wedding.
Leading up to their wedding day, Teresa and Alex faced a couple’s nightmare – their original photographer had to cancel just three weeks prior to the day of the wedding. Fortunately, Zoey and I were able to step in and capture their special day. Zoey and I love marriage and we love being storytellers through photography – we understand the importance of archiving such a monumental day, and it was an honor to be with them.
Of all the events that happened at their wedding at the Nest at Ruth Farms, one standout feature was their commitment to embracing both of their cultural backgrounds. They honored Teresa’s Vietnamese culture by incorporating a few Vietnamese wedding traditions and customs, such as wearing traditional Vietnamese dress attire and they even served boba, a beloved Vietnamese beverage, adding a unique touch to their celebration.
The reception, held at The Nest at Ruth Farms, was a reflection of their planning and attention to detail. Personally, we were in love with the stunning décor, carefully curated to incorporate elements from both Teresa and Alex’s backgrounds. It was a beautiful fusion of traditions, resulting in an ambiance that was both inviting and culturally diverse.
Memorable Moments
Ask Zoey – we love to see our clients have fun. It’s an infectious feeling, honestly. Witnessing Teresa and Alex’s infectious joy as they posed for pictures with their friends and family members at the balloon backdrop was one of those small moments you live that have a greater impact than you realize. Their laughter was contagious.
Call me edgy, but I think I have to thank the other photographer for calling out at the last minute. Had that not happened, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet Teresa and Alex and be a part of each other’s lives. Sure, we had to crunch their timeline and get to know them in a much shorter time frame than the 6-9 months of planning like we’re used to…but then again, what’s wrong with a little bit of life and fun throwing in the occasional wrinkle? (;
