Ready for happy tears? I am, because Gage and Elle’s wedding at the Emerson Venue in Kaufman, TX is everything. Also, I’m going to be the first to admit that anything filmed in Super 8 film makes things 100000x more emotional… (YES, we do Super 8 films!)
About The Emerson
Imagine exchanging vows in a timeless, all-white chapel designed by none other than HGTV’s Leanne Ford—yes, that Leanne Ford!
The Emerson wedding venue is only 30 minutes outside of downtown Dallas and is one of the few wedding venues in Kaufman, Texas.. Some of the highlights that draw couples to the Chapel are the arched windows, chandeliers, and the white-washed pews that somehow make everything feel both rustic and elegant.
The reception hall is perfectly positioned where golden-hour light floods through the windows. It fills the room, making it glow. With the right layout, the reception hall can host up to 150 of your favorite humans.
Other things that stand out are the back patio (perfect for cocktail hour), large bridal suite, groom’s cabin, and just the location of the area. It’s easily one of our favorite wedding venues in Dallas, and we highly recommend the Emerson.
About Gage & Elle’s Wedding at The Emerson
There are couples like Chrissa and Nate who went to school together but didn’t meet, and there are Gage and Elle. Highschool sweethearts who couldn’t be apart from each other. It was only natural that they would attend Texas A&M together!
As a couple, super fun and lively are the two words that come to mind.
Individually, they have done some amazing things! For instance, Elle interned (and now works) in Portland.
Zoey and I live in Texas, but we LOVE the Pacific Northwest! So, naturally, we were able to bond over our shared love of the PNW.
We love when we can bond with our couples when they live nearby, but Elle and Gage now live in Portland. (COME VISIT!)
One thing that makes us excited for them as a couple is their ability to get things done. Gage works a hybrid position, so for a few days every other week he has to go all the way to North Carolina for work.
Talk about commitment to his wife and work!
The Ceremony
We can already agree that the Chapel is amazing at this wedding venue. Right? Right.
After the ceremony, Elle and Gage snuck away for a private drink—just the two of them. I love that they intentionally stole away to soak in the moment that they are married now before things got crazy!
They kept things fun and casual with wood-fired pizzas catered by Cane Rosso. Which, by the way, if you haven’t considered pizza at your wedding, you’re missing out big time. Seriously, don’t knock it! Couples all around are LOVING it for their weddings, and so are their guests!
Beyond amazing pizza, Elle had a vision for a garden-inspired wedding was brought to life by Mabry, who also happened to be Elle’s RA in college (how cute is that?!) from The Flowered Blue.
One final thought here, instead of a traditional cake, they opted for cookies, keeping their day beautiful AND casual.
When I look back on the entire day and events leading up to their wedding, I get a little nostalgic. Every couple we work with is amazing, and each have moments we love.
Whether it’s moments like the emotional and sweet first dance between Elle and her dad, or getting to refer amazing vendors like RWN Beauty to help with hair and makeup, these are just a drop in the ocean of why Zoey and I wake up every day excited to be wedding photographers.
