Weddings tend to have this grandeur about them and feel like they’re all supposed to be grand, show-stopping events. And, thanks to social media, elopements feel like they’re supposed to be on top of massive mountains in the middle of who-knows-where.

That’s why this particular courthouse elopement between Cody and Hannah, was quite the breath of fresh air.

Love has a way of surprising us when we least expect it, and that was certainly the case for Hannah and Cody’s intimate courthouse elopement at Sundance Square in Downtown Fort Worth, Texas. In the heart of this vibrant city, their love story unfolded in a beautifully spontaneous and meaningful way.

About Downtown Forth Worth

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the charm and allure of Downtown Fort Worth, Texas. With its rich history and modern ambiance, this bustling cityscape provided the perfect backdrop for Hannah and Cody’s impromptu courthouse elopement. From its iconic Sundance Square to the lively streets, Downtown Fort Worth exudes a unique energy that captivates both locals and visitors alike.

When I say it’s a beautiful city, I mean it is BEAUTIFUL. Stroll down the boulevard right before the sun is up completely but the city lights are vibrant as ever, and I dare you to tell me it isn’t beautiful. Fort Worth in the sunrise is immaculate!

There are so many historical buildings and fixtures around the town square, that every step is it’s own destination in such a small area.

Take two steps one way, and you are under the glow of pendant lights outlining the awning of a theater. Another 10 steps down the main road, and you find yourself at the steps of the courthouse.

Hannah + Cody’s Courthouse Elopement at Sundance Square

Now, let’s dive into the details of Hannah and Cody’s courthouse elopement at Sundance Square. This couple decided to follow their hearts and embrace an intimate elopement.

They made two bold choices. The first was to ditch forgoing a traditional wedding and booking a wedding venue. The second to visit the courthouse on a Friday, June 24, to officially tie the knot. And to celebrate their union, they planned a sunrise session on Sunday, June 26, allowing them to capture the essence of their love in the early morning light.

The day began bright and early, with Zoey and me eagerly awaiting Hannah and Cody’s arrival at 6 a.m. As the sun began to rise, they walked hand in hand, Starbucks in hand, meeting us just outside their apartment. It was a genuine and intimate start to their photoshoot, as we strolled through the streets of Downtown Fort Worth, capturing breathtaking portraits along the way.

And gosh-darn it if we didn’t find the cutest dog while out and about!

One of the challenges we faced leading up to the shoot was the desire to avoid the bustling crowds that typically fill the streets of downtown Fort Worth in the afternoon. By choosing the early morning hours, we created an intimate and tranquil atmosphere, allowing their love to shine without distractions.

Hannah and Cody’s downtown elopement at Sundance Square was a testament to the beauty of embracing authenticity and following your heart. Their decision to elope and celebrate their love in a simple yet meaningful way showcased their deep connection and adventurous spirits. The charming streets of Downtown Fort Worth provided the perfect setting, allowing their love story to unfold against a vibrant urban backdrop.
