“We just want to create photos for ourselves and have fun.” Got it. We’re in. We’re going to Bardwell Lake.

The second that a couple isn’t looking to perform for anyone but are in for photos for themselves, Zoey and I are immediately 100% in.

When Chasey reached out to us about photographing their engagement session, we got to planning what would make a memorable session for the two of them. Our first thought?

Let’s take them to our favorite spot when we were just dating!

Lake Bardwell Observation Circle

Located in a very special part of Texas, Lake Bardwell’s Observation Circle can be found in Ennis, Texas. (This is the town Zoey and I are from – hence why it is so special)

Definitely NOT known for being the spot Zoey and I would drive out to and get cozy in her Nissan Versa… Lake Bardwell has easily became one of our favorite locations for engagement sessions.

This isn’t something that happened overnight or was because of one specific session that made us get caught up in the moment of this location. It’s genuinely become a part of us.

Zoey and I have been shooting weddings for a while now, and for all of those weddings, we’ve had A LOT of people let us into their inner circles. Many of those circles just happened to involve coming out to Lake Bardwell for engagement sessions.

The way I see it, whenever we bring a couple out to Lake Bardwell, we’re extending that welcome from the circles we’ve been blessed to become a part of, and allowing our couples into it as well.

Lake Bardwell Observation Circle Engagement Photos

I think why I love a good lake engagement session is because of how “Texas” it looks.

Not the stereotypical, “Hollywood” Texas. I mean the real thing.

Green grass, open skies, and just BIG. I don’t know, maybe I look into it too deep, but there is just something about them.

Then again, as I alluded to earlier, maybe I just have fond memories of Zoey and I “hanging out” at the lake when we were younger…

Chasey and Drew

Thank you – so much – for allowing Zoey and I to take you to one of our favorite spots. It’s a meaningful place to us and really has a special place in our hearts.

We hope that your time with us here has made Lake Bardwell and the Observation Circle somewhere special to you too.
