Here’s the thing – we’ll start out friends. It’s NOT cover and it’s NOT pretend. Zoey and I LOVE Chrissa and Nate. Heck, we love everyone we work with!
The thing is, Nate and Chrissa have a very special place in our hearts. You see, Chrissa’s mom, Kari, is an amazing wedding planner we love to work with! So we have to do good by Chrissa or we’ll be shunned forever (;
Jokes aside, Chrissa and Nate are a couple that jives well with us. The chemistry between photographer and model really was exploding for their engagement session at Downtown Dallas and Murrell Park!

About Nate and Chrissa
If you aren’t familiar with invisible string theory, then let me let you in on it.
“It’s the idea that everyone has someone in their lives who is attached to them by an unbreakable string that transcends time, distance, and geography.” – Addison Aloian, What Is The Invisible String Theory? Experts Explain How It Can Help You Find Your Soulmate
Well, that’s Nate and Chrissa. Two people who went to the same school, same friends, same everything, but were never friends themselves.
As life goes, the two graduated high school, started University, and suddenly they found each other!
The Engagement Session at Downtown Dallas
Zoey and I love a long engagement shoot. Let’s not just show up in a field and shoot for 60 minutes. Lets spend some time together and have some fun!
There were two parts we had planned. Part one would include Downtown Dallas engagement photos, and the other part would end with Murrell Park photos.
For this session in particular, we met Nate and Chrissa in Downtown Dallas for – what we were hoping – fun and drinks at BaBou’s, a speakeasy style bar.
Unfortunately it was closed due to an event. No biggy, we’re great at improvising! We made our way down to Magnolia Sous Le Pont – a nearby coffee shop.
Outside Magnolia Sous Le Pont
If you cannot tell by the name, it is a French inspired café. We love how it’s turquoise color pops out against the concrete walls of Downtown. On another note those, the navy awnings paired nicely with Nate’s navy suit! It’s like it was intentional!
While there, we had the coolest experience running into Boban – a NBA Player who used to play for the Mavericks. Did we geek out? I can neither confirm nor deny…
After our session at the coffee shop, we then went down and enjoyed dinner at Poco Fiasco before heading out to go to Murrell Park.
Murrell Park
Murrell Park offers so much. If you are into hiking, mountain biking, and boating, then it’s the place to be.
There is boat ramp access and primitive camping on scenic Grapevine Lake, in the middle of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas.
While we were here, our hope was to be able to use the rocks to capture a cliffy (real word), West Coast. However, due to the amount of rainfall in May, the Grapevine Lake was too high.
No big deal though!
Again, improv was the name of this engagement session! Instead of taking a cliffy photo (again, it’s a real word), we kicked off our shoes and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
We Give a 10/10
Maybe it’s the Olympics that have me in this mood, but we give this session a resounding 10 out of 10!
Chrissa and Nate – we’re so glad to be part of your marriage story. Thanks for being awesome.
Think we’re awesome and want photos like these two? Talk to us! Zoey and I would love to hear about you.
