A tale as old as time, Alyssa and Steve’s Disney inspired wedding at the Artisan was magical. Is magical the right word? Maybe, but it also feels like an understatement.
I heard a sound on TikTok where a woman asked a question.
“What is the biggest lie you have ever been told?”
In response, a man responds with, “It’s not that simple.”
Clearly confused, the woman asked why it wasn’t that simple, but she misunderstood his response. His response implied that being told something is not that simple is actually the lie. Sometimes, things are just that simple.
Magic is this intangible thing that can’t be held – in fact, it can’t be understood. Magic exists simply because it does. But for Alyssa and Steve, it’s simple. Two people of similar (yet different) faiths fell in love and have promised to be with each other, always.
About The Artisan – Dallas Texas
Anyone looking to experience a rooftop terrace wedding should run, not walk, to the Artisan. The words that come to mind to the Artisan would be “modern luxury.”
The Artisan opened September 2018 and is in the middle of the Dallas Arts District at the KPMG Plaza. We love this Dallas wedding venue for many reasons. If we’re honest here, we truly love it because it matches our vibe! As they say, your vibe attracts your tribe – which is what brought us to Steve and Alyssa.
Alyssa and Steve’s Disney Inspired Wedding
If the paintings on Alyssa’s wedding shoes didn’t give it away, Alyssa and Steve are Disney fans. This mutual love helped Alyssa and Steve to design a subtle Disney inspired wedding.
In terms of decor, there was nothing loud about the inspiration. Instead, you had to look intently to find these elements. A hidden mickey here, Disney inspired colors there, and a lot of creativity sprinkled throughout.
The Ceremony at the Artisan
The ceremony on the rooftop at the Artisan was simple – but beautifully curated to honor this interfaith based celebration. To honor both Alyssa and Steve’s religious affiliation, they had two ministers lead the ceremony. A Christian priest led the first half, while a Jewish Rabbi led the latter half. I haven’t seen this happen before, and it was truly unique!
Post ceremony, we spent time with Alyssa and Steve for their portraits. While I love portraits right after a first look, there is electricity in the air immediately after the ceremony! I guess that’s just part of the human experience – to feel such excitement after being pronounced as husband and wife. It was after their portraits that we walked to the elevators that led to the reception.
As the elevator doors closed., I heard Steve tell Alyssa something. He said, “You’re my person. I have been waiting for you my whole life.” 🥹❤️
Memorable Moments
We get to know people backwards. We jump into some of the most intimate moments of their life and fill in the details later. That’s a part of the role of being a wedding photographer. Alyssa and Steve made this easy.
They invited us into their lives, and they gave space for everyone to be themselves. The wedding was filled with delightful details. From the Hidden Mickeys to the bride’s custom-made Beauty and the Beast shoes. There was no other way it could have been more perfect.
Thank You, All Vendors
I would be remiss to leave out the vendors who played such an important role to Alyssa and Steve’s Disney inspired wedding at the Artisan. Without you, this day would not have come together as beautifully as it did.
